Chitwan National Park tour takes you to a naturally beautiful wildlife conservation area in the subtropical inner lowlands of southern Nepal. Nepal has various landscapes from high mountains to lush valleys, hills and vast green forests. These forests in the ‘Terai’ or plains of Nepal are natural habitat to several endangered and rare species of wildlife, where they are protected under law. Extollo’s 6-day Chitwan National Park Tour begins with UNESCO World Heritage sightseeing in Kathmandu valley where you will discover rich cultural heritage such as its architectural marvels and the ancient Hindu and Buddhist relics. These include ancient Kathmandu Durbar Square, the holy Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, one of the world’s biggest Bouddhanath stupa and Swyambhunath stupa on a hilltop. Then we head towards Chitwan, it’s a comfortable 5-hour drive to the Chitwan National Park, which is the main highlight of the tour. In the steamy sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan, you get to enjoy bird-watching and a laidback safari by elephant-back while also getting in touch to the tribal culture of the region. Chitwan National Park houses numerous variety of wildlife including one-horned rhinoceros, Asian Elephants, Royal Bengal Tigers, Gharial crocodiles, deer, birds and many more.

The best time for a perfect Chitwan National Park tour is during seasons of Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). After resting for a while, there will be a pre-trip discussion for the last minute preparation before the trek at our office. Here you will meet your trek leader and other members of your group. This is the moment when you can seek answers to your questions and clear your doubts with your leader. Time permitting, you can take a lazy stroll around the streets near your hotel and observe the contemporary life of the bustling city without getting any cultural shocks. After a warm breakfast in your hotel, our tour guide will arrive to pick you up for a wonderful sightseeing trip in Kathmandu. Today we will have a visit to some of the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Kathmandu. First, we will go towards one of the biggest Hindu temples of the world, Pashupatinath. You can explore hundreds of shrines and small temples in the Pashupatinath premise spread over 260 hectares located at the bank of holy river Bagmati. Then, we will head to Bouddhanath which is one of the largest stupas in the world. After lunch, we drive atop of a small western hill where you will discover the Swyambhunath or famously known as the Monkey Temple. At the end, we return back to Kathmandu Durbar Square where you can visit numerous of the centuries’ old temples, art and architecture. Overnight in Kathmandu.

We will leave for Chitwan in the morning after breakfast. Chitwan is situated in the plains, south of Nepal and about 175 km away from the capital. It is 4-5 hours of drive in a comfortable private vehicle. We descend along the winding roads on the banks of river Trishuli. There are plenty of activities to do in Chitwan. After checking in your hotel and getting refreshed, you can walk on the banks of the Rapti river and view the sunset. In the evening, you will enjoy the cultural program including tribal dances and have your delicious dinner in the hotel. Overnight in Chitwan.

Today is the main highlight of your trip as we will visit Chitwan National park which is a near perfect wildlife retreat. The national park is also listed under UNESCO World Natural Heritage and a natural habitat to many endangered species of flora and fauna. Get on the back of an elephant, travel through the dense forest and also visit the elephant stables. Later have a jungle safari on a jeep while watching various species of birds, one horn rhinoceros, and Royal Bengal Tiger. Next, you can have a canoe ride down the Rapti river and watch Gharial crocodiles, freshwater dolphins and many more. Overnight in Chitwan.

Your sightseeing and wildlife tour in Nepal comes to an end today. A representative from Extollo Adventures will drop you off at the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Our representative shall assist you with your departure. On your way home you will have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal. During your travel, we will follow two types of accommodations. You will spend 3 nights in Kathmandu at the deluxe 3-star hotel and 2 nights in Green Park Chitwan Hotel during the wildlife tour. All accommodations for Chitwan National Park tour will be on a twin-sharing basis. Single supplement will be provided on request, at an additional cost ($0 USD). However, a single supplement may not be feasible all the time.
During our Chitwan National Park tour, you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well as the common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Only breakfasts will be served in your hotel during your stay in Kathmandu, whereas full board meals also including lunch and dinner will be served in your hotel in Chitwan. There will also be a Farewell Dinner hosted by Extollo Adventures upon your return from the successful excursion.

Generally, we do not charge solo travelers any extra charge. You will be paired up with another traveler of same gender and hotel room will be provided on twin sharing basis in Kathmandu and Chitwan. On request, you will be provided a single room in Kathmandu/Chitwan with an extra charge. Upon request and if available we can arrange private rooms with a small single supplement charge.
Extra personal expenses on the trip may include tipping, visa
fees, recreational expenses and other services not listed. Typically travelers
spend around $10 to $20 USD on a daily basis. Following are the items with

It is mandatory for joining any of the Extollo Adventures trips is that all clients must be insured, it is strongly recommended that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. We require that, at a minimum, you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. There could be comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs). Please note that we do not arrange or sell insurance.
All foreign nationals are required to arrange a visa in order
to enter Nepal. A Nepalese Visa can be obtained either prior to your arrival at
a Nepalese embassy abroad or on arrival in Kathmandu at the airport. It can be
also secured at entry points at Nepalese borders.
