The Annapurna Circuit Trek is easily among the most awe-inspiring experiences in the Nepali Himalayas. What makes this trek so special is the variety of landscapes across varied elevations, quality of teahouse treks, and the gradual build-up towards the magnificent Thorong-La pass. The trek is a great choice for groups given that it has something for everyone and can be easily customized to your needs. It’s easy to see why many call it the perfect trek.

The Annapurna Circuit Trekking in Nepal is a 14-day beautiful journey from Kathmandu with a drive to Besisahar and Pisang. This walking adventure begins from Lower Pisang. We will enjoy the ever-changing landscape and culture of the –Annapurna region. While circling the Annapurna massif we get to triumph over one of the world's highest pass -Thorong La (5,416m/17,765ft). We enjoy the dry yet beautiful landscape of the Manang valley. Tour to Muktinath a place of high spiritual importance for the Nepalese (both Hindus and Buddhists) will be impressive during this tour. Visit various ethnic villages of western hills on your trekking trails including Chame, Pisang, Manang, Jomsom and immerse in nature’s beauty, all in our Annapurna Circuit Trek. We visit amazing UNESCO World Heritage Sites scattered around the Kathmandu city before bidding farewell to this beautiful Himalayan nation of Nepal.

Annapurna Circuit Trek best seasons to experience include Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November). Our highly experienced local guides ensure you have the safest and memorable trekking journey in the Annapurna circuit of Nepal.

When Is The Best Time To Go?

Although open year round, we recommend going during either Spring (March to May) or Autumn (September to November). During these times, you have the best chance of favorable weather conditions and should get some amazing views throughout the trip. The temperatures are relatively moderate and you’ll likely avoid the fog and haze of monsoon season as well as the frigid winter conditions.

Is This The Right Trip For You?

    • It is a moderately hard 14-day trek reaching a maximum altitude of 17,765 ft (5,416 m)
    • Expect to walk 6-7 hours each day with daily ascends of about 1,300- 2,300 ft (400-700 m)
    • Suitable for anyone with moderate fitness level, from a beginner trekkers to experienced adventurers. High altitude is the most challenging factor but we factor in time to acclimatize
    • Past hiking experience would be favorable, though technical skill is not required
    • We recommend jogging and exercising daily at least 6 months prior to the start of your trip and provide suggested guidelines to train for this specific trek

    • Flight Delays in Jomsom

Flights between Jomsom and Pokhara are normally on time, though bad weather conditions may cause flight delay or even cancellation. In such scenario, Extollo Adventures will attempt to get you on a chartered helicopter to avoid flight delays or alternative ways to get you in planned destinations. All additional cost would be your responsibility which could be $400 USD or more depending on the number of people on the flight.

We already schedule one extra day into your trip as a buffer day in Kathmandu in case of such flight delays or cancellations. However, we also suggest you add a couple of additional days at the end of your trip in case of any delays.

    • Travel Insurance

It is mandatory for joining any of the Extollo Adventures trips is that all clients must be insured, it is strongly recommended that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. We require that, at a minimum, you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. There could be comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs). Please note that we do not arrange or sell insurance.

    • Extra Expenses and Exclusions

Extra personal expenses on the trip may include showering, recharging batteries, bottled/boiled water, soda, alcoholic beverages, tipping, visa fees, recreational expenses and other services not listed. Typically trekkers spend around $10 to $20 USD on a daily basis. Following are the items with extra costs during the trek:

      • All the meals (B/L/D) are included in the trek but only breakfast is included while you are in Kathmandu thus, lunch and dinner may cost you $10-15 USD per meal.
      • Tip for the guide and porter after the trek which maybe around 8-10% of your trip cost.
      • Drinking water can cost between $1 and $4 a bottle in the mountains (it gets more expensive towards base camp). Or you may bring water tablets and treat the water during the trek, which costs around $2.
      • Other services like wifi ($3 to $5 per hour), hot showers ($4 to $6) and charging electric devices ($1 to $3 an hour) are available in few tea houses.
      • In case of unforeseen events like bad weather conditions and eventual flight cancellations, you are responsible for extra hotel nights and meals in Kathmandu or Lukla.
      • For the visa fees, please check Visa and Passport Information.
    • Solo Travelers

Generally, we do not charge solo travelers any extra charge. You will be paired up with another traveler of same gender and hotel room will be provided on twin sharing basis in Kathmandu. On request, you will be provided a single room in Kathmandu with an extra charge. Similarly, you will need to share a room with same gender group member in tea houses during the trek. Upon request and if available we can arrange private rooms during trekking with a small single supplement charge.

Autumn (Sept to Nov) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for Annapurna Circle Trek. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views. If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some quality time with nature then taking this trip during winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) could also be an option. However, the temperature during winter could be harsh enough to obstruct the high passes with ice and snow. Trekking in the Summer or Monsoon seasons (June to Aug) will be affected by rain but the Summer trek could be a boon for a keen botanist.
